The shop is run by Richard & his sons Paul & Jack who are the third & fourth generation to be involved in the family business.
We can provide advice on all aspects of floristry for all occasions over the phone or in person at  our shop which is based in the Village of Sutton Courtenay between Didcot & Abingdon.

Occasion Bouquets and Same Day Delivery Flowers

Richard Mathews Florist is a fourth generation family business offering a wide range of modern and traditional flower designs. Whether you’re looking for a birthday or new baby gift, or whether you’re looking for a more structured display for a funeral, you’ll find something perfect here.

Our fresh cut flowers come from Covent Garden Market, Dutch flower markets and our very own garden centre. They are the perfect way to say thanks, happy birthday, congratulations, or simply I love you. Whatever the occasion – and even if there isn’t one – everybody enjoys beautiful flowers.

With over 100 years experience in providing occasion flowers, our family has an unrivalled eye for floristry. We make the most of seasonal blooms to create spectacular displays with beautiful colour palettes. Our range includes a romantic bouquet of a dozen roses to impress on an anniversary, and you can even add one of our luxurious chocolate selections to really spoil your special lady.

Our summer baskets are packed with bright garden flowers like sunflowers and peonies, and our neutral funeral wreaths and sympathy displays are an elegant way to pay your respects. If you’re planning your special day we can customise a display to co-ordinate your colour scheme and look stunning in your photographs. Every bride deserves perfect flowers on her wedding day.

Ordering Flowers

We have a shop and garden centre in Oxfordshire where we grow many of our flowers ourselves. Our location means we are able to personally deliver flower displays to addresses around Abingdon and Didcot, and through eFlorist we deliver to addresses across the UK and internationally.  If you’re in a hurry, we offer a same day delivery service for orders made before midday Monday to Saturday.
